Each bag we create is unique unto its owners story. As such, the materials that go into creating each bag must be specifically chosen to best convey a particular meaning. Whether it be bits of heirloom fabric, components of meaningful objects, or the use of specific colors to bring a history or memory to life; the selection of materials is a crucial piece of the bag building puzzle.
The story and history that is the conceptual framework for our latest bag build is both astonishing and touching. Its historical references range from Roosevelt's WPA programs of the 1930's, to a WWII navyman's wartime and post wartime experiences, to a son's eventual reconnection with his father's legacy through this historical timeline.
Everyone has a story and by weaving leather with physical artifacts, we seek to create a product that will maintain a daily connection to these memories. This method and theory is at the heart of our Legacy Carryalls.
